Well, we made it across the Atlantic, from Brazil to Ghana, Africa. The voyage took 9 days and we were fortunate to have calm seas for the most part. This was our longest continuous ship-time voyage and we are all glad to be anchored at Takarodi, Ghana. While we are sailing my job as the AV Coordinator keeps me busy, especially at nights. I typically start at 6:45am and am done around 9pm. I am in charge of "producing" all the big shows on the ship. I know this is a scary thought, but I'm learning to blame the equipment instead of my own shortcomings. Everyone seems to be buying my excuses, since few know how any of the equipment works (including me.) The productions are getting better though, as I've put work-study students in charge. This is what we call delegation, and it will hopefully save my job. I am learning a lot since I have to be at every event.
We have just finished our second day in Ghana, and I will put a more detailed post soon. I want to put a few images on know of some initial experiences. I will say that Africa makes Brazil feel like Alaska. It's freaking hot here. I am trying to hydrate though and have found that Africana Beer works well. I have attached a picture below of a three log load for Mike Solem. I will post about the rest of our time in Ghana soon. I am going to attempt a six mile run tomorrow, so stay tuned. Later...
